YOUR MIND IS A TOOL YOU CAN CHOOSE TO USE IN ANY WAY YOU WISH!

Attitude is a choice, happiness is a choice, optimism is a choice, respect is a choice and kindness is a choice. Whatever choice you make, makes you. The thoughts that we choose to think are the tools we use to paint the canvas of our lives for it is the thought that defines the quality and kind of our life.

We have the power to choose and react to a particular situation and navigate through our ways with ease and comfort. The suggestions and statements of others might not hold true to our inner landscape therefore we might end up having a tiff, seldom realizing that we do have the power to reject or react to those thoughts and affirm the good and choose abundance. Fundamentally, our choice of thought determines the kind of life we intend to live.

We can also delve into comparing the process of Response and Reaction. These two terms are used synonymously yet they have different connotations to me. A Reaction is an instant decision driven by sub consciousness. They are generally instinctual and thoughtless acts. While a Response is consciously derived decision. It is based on information from both sub conscious or conscious mind.

Therefore, when encountered with a strenuous situation with someone we can expand our awareness about “space” which may liberate us from being over stimulated by external or internal pressures. Creating space would analysis of the situation and assessing its implications beforehand.

The choice to choose our response empowers us. The point is the more we react, the less empowered we become as we operate underlying assumptions and beliefs. When we respond we may consider to explore in our mind the possible outcomes.

Pausing for a moment, observing from a distance , deep and silent breathing could help in fading the reaction and inviting  balance to return.

Thus ‘Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response lies our growth and freedom’.
